Position summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office has an opening for a full-time or part-time intern in its Facilities Design Unit. Facilities Design is responsible for space planning, programming, design, construction management, bid review, and on-site supervision for all office expansion and renovation projects for one of the largest and most innovative District Attorney’s offices in the country. This position offers an opportunity to use the knowledge you are building in school and to gain professional office experience.  The intern will report to the Director of Facilities Design.
 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist Facilities Design staff with light drawing using AutoCAD.
• Filing and processing paperwork.
• Helping with ongoing projects in the unit.
• Performing related tasks as assigned.  

Qualifications:

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required.
• A willingness to learn
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2011 (demonstration of proficiency will be part of the interview process).
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to update and edit existing databases.
• Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow.
• Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
• Must be able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment; detail oriented and self-motivated and able to multi-task.

Educational Requirements:

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Architecture or Interior Design.

  
Additional Requirements:

• Sketchup and 3D Studio Viz rendering skills desired.

 
Commitment:

• Applicants must commit to completing their internship as determined with the Director of Facilities Design.
