Description
Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an opening for a Grand Jury Stenographer (Temporary: 6 months to 1 year) in the Grand Jury Stenographers Unit. In this position the Grand Jury Stenographer is responsible for taking minutes, transcribing, and testifying as needed to Grand Jury hearings.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Take minutes of grand jury testimony.
  • Transcribe minutes of the testimony using appropriate computer program.
  • Take testimony in other hearings as needed.
  • Transcribe CDs, videos, and tapes as required.
Qualifications:
  • Computer experience a must.
  • Reporting experience a plus.
  • Must be able to accurately record 225 wpm.
Educational Requirements:
  • Associate Occupational Science Degree in court reporting required.
Other Requirements:
  • Candidates will be tested on their own equipment.
  • New York City residency required.
