Position summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an opening for a temporary Transcription Analyst in its Cybercrime & Identity Theft Bureau (CITB). In this position the Transcription Analyst will need to quickly transcribe recorded communication with varying degrees of difficulty, including heavy regional accents, rapid speaking, and some distorted audio, and background noise. Please note this position is temporary (minimum of six (6) months) with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Transcribe communications using appropriate computer program.
• Ability to accurately transcribe recorded telephone communication.
• Accurately maintain record of transcriptions as related to cases.

Qualifications:

• Ability to respond quickly to assignments.
• Computer proficiency required: Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to accurately record over 150 wpm.
• Superior organizational, time management, writing and communication skills are essential.
• Quickly and efficiently produce high quality work product.
• Ability to meet unit case related transcription deadlines.
• Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
• Ability to maintain a high regard for confidentiality and diplomacy.

Educational Requirements:

• Academic preparation and training in related field.

Other/Preferred Requirements:

• Candidates will be tested on their own equipment.
• Transcription equipment (Wave foot pedal and headphones).
• Familiarity with computer systems is preferred (Worldox, Orion).
