Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney’s Office (DANY) has an opening for a System VMWare/Windows Infrastructure Engineer in its Information Technology (IT) Department. The Engineer will be responsible for leading the efficient operation, development, and administration of the corporate VMWare server, and the office's Windows and Linux environment.

The New York County District Attorney’s Office (DANY) has an opening for a System VMWare/Windows Infrastructure Engineer in its Information Technology (IT) Department. The Engineer will be responsible for leading the efficient operation, development, and administration of the corporate VMWare server, and the office's Windows and Linux environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Act as technical lead role for all administration, installation, configuration, upgrades, updates, security patching, and maintenance tasks.
- Implement policies, procedures, and technologies as required to support service infrastructure.
- Actively monitors various environments and proactively mitigates any potential issues.
- Work with vendors on specifications.
- Work with Dell Blade and HP Synergy server architectures.
- Perform Firmware updates as needed.
- Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.
- Minimum three (3) years' relevant experience required.
- In-depth knowledge of VMWware and Windows Operating systems support and maintenance.
- Experience working with a wide range of Microsoft applications.
- Ability to work independently, and to conduct research on, test, and document new software and hardware.
- Self-driven and willingness to expand technical skill set.
- Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, prioritize among competing needs, and respond quickly to requests for information.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in computer science, engineering or related field of study.
- HS diploma or equivalent required and additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
- MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certification and two or more of the following certifications based on primary responsibility or related work experience:
- MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer)
- MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer)
- MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
- RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer)
- VCP (VMware Certified Professional)
- Dell & HP Server hardware experience, including Dell Open manage.
- In-depth knowledge of VMware Virtual center\ESXn
- Scripting Knowledge, with the ability to create scripts for server management & support.
- One (1) year commitment to hiring bureau.
