Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an opening for an Assistant Chief Investigator in its Investigation Bureau. In this position, the Assistant Chief will be responsible for assisting with the administration, oversight, and all operations of the investigators, with the mission of supporting prosecution and investigations within DANY, as well as overseeing internal security, under the direction of the Chief Investigator.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Tactical and operational supervision of investigations, including supervision of: search warrants, eavesdropping warrants, securing evidence, physical surveillance, witness interviews, effecting arrest, and all other investigative and police functions.
• Assist with the administrative functions including: hiring investigators, establishing appropriate training requirements, providing regular performance evaluations, creating structure to ensure coverage for all investigative needs, and assessing and initiating standards to encourage professional growth of investigative staff.

Qualifications:

• Qualified candidates must have at least four (4) years full time experience performing criminal investigations one year of which must have been as a supervisor or equivalent.
• Familiarity with New York City and the surrounding area, as well as experience with NYPD rules and procedures a must.
• Must have experience in the development of proactive investigative initiatives for both the Investigation Bureau, as well as in conjunction with other outside law enforcement agencies. 
• A broad experience in criminal investigations is required.
• Excellent computer skills required; strong leadership skills with the ability to interact with external agencies and provide effective supervision for a diverse and talented investigative staff.
