Description
Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an opening for a Human Resources Assistant in its Human Resources Department. In this position, the Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Human Resources Employee and Labor Relations Unit.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Supports Employee Relations Manager during performance management process; updates employee data, tasks, and expectation templates, and assists staff with system inquiries.
  • Assists with tracking and reporting of health and safety incidents within the human resource information system.
  • Provides support with reasonable accommodation requests to DANY's EEO Reasonable Accommodation Coordinators.
  • Supports Human Resources with the maintenance, accuracy, and organization of data entered within the Human Resource system for payroll, temporary employees, consultants, and interns.
  • Assists human resource management with administrative tasks including ad-hoc reporting and data analysis.
  • Contributes to acknowledging human resource concepts, principles, and practices related to achieving goals set within the Employee and Labor Relations unit of Human Resources.
  • Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proven efficiency in the use of MS Office Suite (Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio); ability to update and edit existing databases.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple short-term projects.
  • Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Must possess a readiness and ability to quickly learn and use various industry-relevant computer systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, communication (oral and written), and creative problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Must be detail-oriented with a high concern for data accuracy.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, with high regard for confidentiality and diplomacy.
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required (preferably in Human Resources, HR Development, Education, or Business Management). 
Preferred Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of prior administrative experience within a human resources department preferred.
  • Knowledge of NYC Personnel and Payroll systems (i.e. NYCAPS, PMS, CHRMS, CityTime).
  • Knowledge and familiarity with proprietary applications and methods of data extraction from those applications.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with HRIS and similar systems.
Commitment:
  • One (1) year commitment to hiring department.
