Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an immediate opening for a Network Services Support Engineer in its IT/Network Services Unit. In this position, the Network Services Support Engineer will be part of a team that is responsible for providing network operations, troubleshooting and administration support. Please note that this position requires a condensed work week schedule of 3 weekdays and 1 weekend day as follows: Sundays from 11:00 am - 8:45 pm; Mondays - Wednesdays from 12:00 pm - 9:45 pm.

In this position, the Network Services Support Engineer will be part of a team that is responsible for providing network operations, troubleshooting and administration support. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee, revise and set standard procedures and policies as they relate to providing user access to resources throughout the DANY Network.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
- Assist in data backup and tape management tasks as needed.
- Work directly with Supervisor on new project Implementations and specific assigned tasks.
- Assist in User Account creation, transfers and separations as it relates to Network / Active Directory.
- Provide IT Help Desk support during non-business hours.
- Perform related duties as needed.
- Strong working knowledge of Active Directory / Group Policies.
- Good understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP protocols, DHCP and DNS.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision during assigned shifts.
- Working knowledge of network devices and resources.
- Strong troubleshooting techniques and strategies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and related applications.
- Must possess a general fluency with computer applications and electronic devices and a readiness to quickly learn about and adapt to rapid changes in technology and computer systems.
- Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
- Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3 – 5 years of Microsoft server administration, preferably Windows 2008/2012 and later.
- Microsoft Training and Certifications preferred.
- Citrix environment knowledge a plus.
- VMware experience a plus.
- Knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN) a plus.
- One (1) year commitment to the hiring unit.
- Sundays from 11:00 am - 8:45 pm; Mondays - Wednesdays from 12:00 pm - 9:45 pm.
