Description
Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney’s Office (DANY) has an opening for a Unit Coordinator in its Litigation Support Unit (LSU). LSU helps DANY keep up with the pace of change occurring in discovery and related technology. LSU plays a crucial role in managing the growing volume of digital evidence coming to DANY. LSU has principal responsibility for: providing expert courtroom testimony, processing digital evidence, reviewing digital evidence for privilege (via the Privilege Review Unit), assisting case teams in their response to discovery requests, and managing body worn camera videos. In this position, the Unit Coordinator is responsible for providing highly-skilled administrative and logistical support to the unit and office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Oversee daily administrative functions of the Unit.
  • Coordinate support staff hiring and training processes.
  • Assist in scheduling meetings and interviews for Unit Chief and managers.
  • Answer unit telephones, takes and delivers accurate messages promptly.
  • Greets witnesses and visitors and notifies appropriate staff of their arrival.
  • Responsible for coordinating with IT, HR, fiscal, operations, space planning, and purchasing for all staffing, repairs, machine maintenance, network issues, supplies, etc.
  • Update and maintain unit databases and contact/location information accordingly.
  • Assist with various unit-related projects and reports as necessary.
  • Perform related tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Highly skilled in standard computer operating systems and software (Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with strong ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Superior organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivator, and able to manage multiple assignments.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, law enforcement representatives, and outside visitors.
  • Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Minimum one (1) year of criminal justice or paralegal experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the eDiscovery process a plus.
Commitment:
  • One (1) year commitment to hiring bureau.
