Description
Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney’s Office (DANY) has an opening for a Program Coordinator in its Legal Training Unit. The Program Coordinator works closely with the prosecutors who oversee the training program, assisting them with coordinating the myriad training programs designed for prosecutors in the trial, appellate, and investigative divisions of the Office. In this position, the Program Coordinator will have the opportunity to attend lectures and workshops sponsored by the Legal Training Unit, which cover topics ranging from criminal law and procedure, social psychology, scientific evidence, and the New York City Police Department.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in researching and preparing training materials and legal manuals; provide basic technical support for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) presentations.
  • Assist in administering all program events.
  • Coordinate reproduction and preparation of handouts, manuals, and other materials for LTU programs and events.
  • Update and maintain inventory of all LTU training materials.
  • Update and maintain LTU information on DANYNet (Sharepoint).
  • Create and administer CLE evaluations using Survey Monkey.
  • Perform administrative tasks necessary for the functioning of the Legal Training Unit.
  • Complete related LTU assignments as requested.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and research skills a must.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and internet required, including use of Outlook and document formatting in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Superior organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task, and able to interact professionally with all levels of DANY staff.
  • Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
  • Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
Commitment:
  • One (1) year commitment to the hiring unit.
