Description
Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an opening for a Custodial Supervisor in its Facilities Management Unit. In this position, the Custodial Supervisor, in collaboration with the Deputy Director of Facilities Management, will supervise custodial staff, within DANY office space and immediate grounds.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Has a general knowledge of COVID-19 disinfecting procedures, products and equipment and ability to direct staff engaged in disinfecting procedures in the workplace.
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate custodial staff.
  • Coordinate and schedule projects, and perform general housekeeping tasks.
  • Maintain and organize stock levels in store room and supply closet.
  • Maintain custodial equipment and service equipment as necessary.
  • Inspects and performs daily written checklist of scheduled cleaning done by all staff under supervision.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Prior supervisory experience necessary.
  • Excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment and techniques required.
  • Ability to take direction and offer clear effective work directions to staff.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and vendors.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word required; knowledge of Excel a plus.
Educational Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work rotating schedules and weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Overtime may be required.
Commitment:
  • One (1) year commitment to hiring bureau.
