Description

Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office Human Resources Department has an opening for a Human Resources Assistant.  In this position the Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Human Resources support staff recruitment, training and development team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Maintains and updates Applicant Tracking System, from initial submission through employee on-boarding by tracking, reporting, updating, editing and auditing applications received.

• Monitors, initiates and tracks on-boarding status of all employees through electronic on-boarding system.
• Updates and maintains agency-wide SharePoint site, to ensure current and relevant information is disseminated to all employees.
• Promotes, brands and supplies information regarding HR related initiatives to develop staff well-being through Employee Assistance Program, training and new sources for staff development
• Other job related duties as assigned; ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications:
• Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
• Proven efficiency in the use of MS Office Suite (Microsoft Office, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint); ability to update and edit existing databases.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple short-term projects.
• Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Must possess a readiness and ability quickly learn and use various industry relevant computer systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, communication, writing, and creative problem solving skills are essential.
• Must be detail-oriented paying strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff, with a high regard for confidentiality and diplomacy.

Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, HR Development, Education or Business Management with two to three years of experience providing administrative support.

Other Preferred Requirements:
• Prior administrative experience within a human resources department preferred
• Knowledge of NYC Personnel and Payroll systems (NYCAPS, PMS, CHRMS, CityTime), a plus
• Knowledge and familiarity with proprietary applications and methods of data extraction from those applications.
• Knowledge and familiarity with a HRIS and similar systems.

Additional Requirements:
• One (1) year commitment to the hiring bureau
