Description

Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office Human Resources Department has an opening for a Human Resources Assistant.  In this position the Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Labor Relations unit.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Ensures data integrity of HRIS through tracking, reporting, updating editing and audits.
• Using data extracted from various proprietary HR systems to be used in agency wide reports, high level reports and audits.
• Maintains, updates and monitors employee performance appraisal system.
• Maintains and updates Emergency Response Management system employee related information.
• Maintains internal SharePoint site, to update various logs and Unit related calendar.
• Tracks incoming HR issues from the initial call to completion in the call tracking system.
• Other job related duties as assigned; managing consultant contract database.
• Answer phones and directs all incoming calls to appropriate party.
• Other job related duties as assigned; ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications:
• Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
• Proven efficiency in the use of MS Office Suite (Microsoft Office, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint); ability to update and edit existing databases.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple short-term projects.
• Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Must possess a readiness and ability quickly learn and use various industry relevant computer systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, communication, writing, and creative problem solving skills are essential.
• Must be detail-oriented paying strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff, with a high regard for confidentiality and diplomacy.

Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, HR Development, Education or Business Management with two to three years of experience providing administrative support.

Other Preferred Requirements:
• Prior administrative experience within a human resources department preferred
• Knowledge of NYC Personnel and Payroll systems (NYCAPS, PMS, CHRMS, CityTime), a plus
• Knowledge and familiarity with proprietary applications and methods of data extraction from those applications.
• Knowledge and familiarity with a HRIS and similar systems.

Additional Requirements:
• One (1) year commitment to the hiring bureau
