Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office Human Resources Department has an opening for a Human Resources Assistant. In this position the Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to Payroll and Timekeeping Unit.

The New York County District Attorney's Office Human Resources Department has an opening for a Human Resources Assistant. In this position the Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to Payroll and Timekeeping Unit.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
- Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
- Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
- Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
- Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Assist with the administration, tracking and reporting of data in our HRIS.
- Data extraction from various in house HR systems to be used in high level reports, audits or other reporting needs.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Proven efficiency in the use of MS Office Suite (Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Able to maintain a positive attitude to set the tone for a professional office environment.
- Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality and diplomacy.
- Effective communication, strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Prior administrative experience within a human resources department or related work preferred
- Knowledge and familiarity with DANY’s in-house applications and methods of data extraction from those applications.
- Bachelor's Degree
- One (1) year commitment to the hiring bureau.
