Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office has an immediate opening for a Bi-lingual (Spanish) Unit Secretary in the Witness Aid Services Unit (WASU). In this position the Unit Secretary is responsible for providing highly-skilled secretarial and administrative support to the Director, Unit, and office.

The New York County District Attorney's Office has an immediate opening for a Bi-lingual (Spanish) Unit Secretary in the Witness Aid Services Unit (WASU). In this position the Unit Secretary is responsible for providing highly-skilled secretarial and administrative support to the Director, Unit, and office.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Performs secretarial tasks, administrative functions and clerical assignments
- Works with Unit supervisors to ensure efficient management of Unit operations
- Answers Unit telephones, takes and delivers accurate messages promptly
- Greets witnesses and visitors and notifies appropriate staff of their arrival
- Orders supplies and maintains appropriate inventory
- Updates and maintains databases and updates information accordingly
- Acts as liaison to interoffice units including (WASU) Counseling Services, Notifications/Property Release, Victim Assistance Center (VAC), Special Victims Bureau (SVB)
- Under the direction of the Director and Unit Supervisors, trains and delegates unit assignments as necessary
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to learn in-house proprietary applications
- Ability to follow directions, work independently, and manage assignments
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up
- Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with Office staff
- High school diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Must possess fluency in Spanish & English both oral and written
- Prior secretarial experience
- Public Notary
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system
