Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office has an immediate opening for an Investigative Analyst in its Human Trafficking Response Unit (“HTRU”). HTRU specializes in handling cases involving forced labor, sexual exploitation and other forms of servitude. Along with our partners in law enforcement and the advocate community, we’ve made it easier for trafficked individuals to report crime and obtain services. In this position the Investigative Analyst is responsible for providing highly sensitive and confidential audits and investigative support to HTRU.

HTRU specializes in handling cases involving forced labor, sexual exploitation and other forms of servitude. Along with our partners in law enforcement and the advocate community, we’ve made it easier for trafficked individuals to report crime and obtain services. In this position the Investigative Analyst is responsible for providing highly sensitive and confidential audits and investigative support to HTRU.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform multifaceted confidential financial investigations relating to sex and labor trafficking.
- Prepare analyses of financial records pertaining to trafficking activity.
- Work collaboratively with other bureaus and units within the Office to trace and identify assets for forfeiture.
- Communicate to Assistant District Attorneys (ADAs), both orally and in writing, the methodology used to commit the offense and the total financial loss to the victim(s).
- Testify before the Grand Jury, at trial and other judicial proceedings.
- Perform related tasks as assigned
- Ability to communicate effectively with financial institutions, regulators, and law enforcement agencies to build institutional relationships a must.
- Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and internet capability required.
- Ability to learn and use various computer systems is critical.
- Must possess a readiness to learn; foreign language proficiency a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or a related field;
- CFE designation within one (1) year of appointment required for those who do not have accounting degree.
