Description
Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office has an opening for an Audio Visual Specialist in its Legal Training Unit (LTU).  In this position, the Audio Visual Specialist is responsible for providing highly skilled audio visual related support to the unit and office.

 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Providing audio/visual support, including recording, editing, uploading and archiving of recorded courses, and technical assistance during CLE and other training programs
  • Edit raw footage, create graphics, author LTU DVDs
  • Burn recorded LTU lectures on DVDs
  • Scan, index and store recorded LTU lectures on office’s intranet site
  • Catalog archived recordings, encrypt selected on-line courses for CLE purposes
  • Set up, operate, maintain and repair equipment used to enhance live events
  • Coordinate graphics used in CLE displays and provide technical support for teleconferences, webinars and distance-learning classes
  • Edit, copy and store videotapes and DVDs
  • Track inventory of equipment and order supplies
  • Work with microphones, speakers, video cameras, video screens, projectors, video monitors, and recording equipment
  • Support and assist ADA's in using CLE related software and technology
  • Prepare recordings for DANY e-learning CLE courses
  • Maintain audio/visual equipment used to record LTU programs and events
  • Assist IT staff and LTU directors in the continual improvement to training room facilities and technologies utilized during training programs
Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with computer systems used in multimedia production.
  • Knowledge of camera and lighting techniques is essential, and familiarity with editing equipment and software required.
  • Must be able to transport, assemble, maintain and repair equipment used in LTU multimedia production.
  • Possess strong communication skills, and the ability to interact with co-workers and speakers, often under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to think quickly and effectively
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on PowerPoint
  • Ability to work directly with employees and provide solutions to problems in a simple, clear manner.
  • Manual dexterity and an aptitude for working with electronic and mechanical equipment; must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Creative and Tech Savvy
  • Familiarity with basic live capture and live audio technology, editing programs, and the ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technologies is required.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite highly desired.
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with an interest in audiovisual technology, website development and/or legal, government or teaching fields.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Knowledge of information technology and skill in that area are also valuable because of the growing prominence of digital recording and broadcasting.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings and occasionally but rarely weekends.
  • A one-year commitment is required; two-year commitment preferred.
