Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney’s Office, the premier local prosecutor's office in the country, offers an excellent opportunity for a career in a challenging legal environment. We are a high profile government law office with a staff of more than 1,400 and a budget of $90 million.

The Bureau of Planning and Management, the internal management consulting arm of the office, is accepting applications for the position of policy analyst. The prospective analyst should be results-driven and have a balance of excellent quantitative and communication skills and a take-charge attitude. The Analyst will perform a wide range of analytic and operational duties related to, data analysis, operational research, policy research, program design, and grants management.  This is a highly visible position, often involving direct contact with senior management, with great latitude for individual initiative.
 
The primary duties of the Analyst are to assist in data analyses, policy research, project management, and grant administration. The Analyst will also have an opportunity to work on a range of projects that assist executive management in determining the feasibility of shaping policy decisions and operational considerations. These projects include but are not limited to operational and cost benefit analyses, conducting data analysis, producing statistical reports, analyzing crime data, researching criminal justice issues and trends, developing and analyzing performance metrics and managing special projects. In addition, the Analyst will assist in coordinating grant applications and technological initiatives with city, state and federal agencies.


Qualifications:
  • Experience researching criminal justice policy or related areas
  • Prior SQL, statistical analysis, visualization, or reporting experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Experience with grant writing or budgeting
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
 
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Economics, Public Policy, Government, Urban Studies, Criminal Justice or related fields
 
Commitment:
Two (2) year commitment to hiring bureau
