Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) Community Partnership Unit has an opening for an Academic Advocate/Youth Outreach Worker. In this position the Academic Advocate is responsible for providing support to the Community Partnership Unit by focusing on DANY’s Saturday Night Lights initiatives and other youth violence prevention strategies.

The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) Community Partnership Unit has an opening for an Academic Advocate/Youth Outreach Worker. In this position the Academic Advocate is responsible for providing support to the Community Partnership Unit by focusing on DANY’s Saturday Night Lights initiatives and other youth violence prevention strategies.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain expertise and partnerships focused on public safety issues facing youth in the community surrounding Saturday Night Lights sites
- Coordinate community partnerships and programming at Saturday Night Lights sites
- Build relationships with participants, families and stakeholders
- Provide academic referral and advocacy to ensure participant success in school
- Organize workshops and events focused on relevant issues affecting the public safety of youth
- Track and report outcomes of initiatives
- Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and internet search capability required.
- Superior organizational, writing and communication skills, along with creative problem-solving abilities are essential; resourcefulness, initiative and good judgment essential.
- Working knowledge of DANY and New York State court systems preferred.
- Must possess a readiness to learn and adapt to rapid changes in technology.
- Ability to work overtime and flexible hours including holidays, some evening and weekend.
- Bilingual Spanish speaking ability a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field.
