Description
Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office has as opening for an Interns in its Information Technology (IT) Department. In this position the Intern will provide support while gaining first-hand exposure to the criminal justice system and IT. The intern will be assigned to assist IT staff with providing computer hardware, software and technical support to DANY.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Supporting PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, application software
  • Provide end user support to various levels of technical and non-technical staff
  • Configure software as appropriate for end users
  • Assist end users with computer and application issues as assigned by IT Helpdesk
  • Special projects as needed
  • Performs related administrative and clerical duties as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Ability to update and edit existing databases.
  • Knowledge of the PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software.
  • Knowledge of the PC Industry’s current and emerging technology trends and direction, as well as a keen interest in computer-based information systems and technology.
  • Possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems.
  • Ability to research and understand technical documentation, and an understanding of how to apply various technical resources.
  • Ability to perform tasks such as providing operating systems and application software installations and upgrades, virus protection and eradication.
Educational Requirements:
  • Must be currently enrolled as a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student.
Additional Requirements:
  • Applicants must be available and willing to commit at least three (3) months for an internship.
  • A minimum 2.5 grade point average is required.
  • Student must provide a resume, and a current unofficial transcript (proof of good academic standing).
