Description
The Facilities Design Unit of the District Attorney’s Office of New York County is seeking a temporary full-time (1 year minimum) project architect to work on upcoming projects. The successful applicant would join a fast-paced, collaborative office which is responsible for the space planning; space layout and design; and specification of fixtures, finishes and furniture for one of the largest and most innovative District Attorney’s offices in the country.
We are looking for a Project Architect who will utilize his/her knowledge, experience and work ethic to contribute to the successful completion of our projects. The successful candidate will be able to work efficiently and independently and as part of a team. The Project Architect will answer to the Project Manager, and will work with other Facilities Design staff and with the various Stakeholders of each project.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited college
- Minimum 8 years of experience
- Ability to work independently and to accept direction and learn new skills
- Experience with commercial and office build-out projects
- Ability to meet project deadlines
- Detail oriented and precise
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience producing SD, DD and CD documents using AutoCAD 2011 (or later) and SketchUp
- Ability to work affectively with multiple stake-holders, committees and agencies to ensure the successful completion of a project.
- Willingness and ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of New York City Building Code and ADA requirements
- LEED experience
- Experience with Public projects
- Experience with New York City Agencies
