Position summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office has an immediate opening for a Program Coordinator in its Alternate Sentencing Unit. In this position the Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the functions and responsibilities for the Alternate Sentencing Unit.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Interview defendants and assigns appropriate placement in participating agencies.
- Updates processing information on computerized system.
- Coordinates and maintains all defendant information.
- Serves as liaison with local, state and federal agencies.
- Testifies at court hearings.
- Performs high-level administrative functions and related duties.
- Responsible for working with Unit supervisors to ensure efficient management of bureau operations and resources.
- Performs related administrative and clerical duties as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Ability to update and edit existing databases.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow.
- Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
- Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
- Must be able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment; detail oriented and self-motivated and able to multi-task.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- High School diploma or its equivalent
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Paralegal experience a plus.
- Bilingual Spanish speaking ability a must.
- Knowledge of the office and the criminal justice system a plus.
