Description
Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office has an immediate opening for a Forensic Cybercrime Investigator in its Cybercrime & Identity Theft Bureau (CITB). 
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist ADAs in sensitive and complex long term investigations into cybercrime and identity theft.
  • Perform in-depth computer searches of investigative targets.
  • Assist in undercover internet operations.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze large data sets. Create summaries, intelligence profiles, and develop leads.
  • Liaise with other law enforcement agencies.
  • Perform data entry, and administrative tasks.
  • Generate subpoenas, spreadsheets, charts and other exhibits for investigative use
  • Communicate investigative results to other team members.
  • Disassemble, configure, troubleshoot, and create forensic images of computer hardware.  Conduct computer forensic analysis.  Create reports and summaries.  Communicate results.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to work with large amounts of information and data.  Database skills a plus.
  • Detail oriented, with superior organizational, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of DANY, and New York State court systems a plus.
  • Experience with sophisticated cybercrime investigations, and internet undercover activities preferred.
  • Experience and training regarding digital forensics preferred.
  • Experience and training in cyber-intrusion response a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills required.  Must be highly skilled in standard computer operating systems and software (Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with strong ability to learn new software.
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred requirements:
  • Five years related experience preferred.
  • A two-year commitment is required.
