Description
The New York County District Attorney's Office has an immediate opening for a temporary part time tutor in its Advocate to Graduate (A2G) Program. A2G is a Manhattan-based advocacy program, which seeks to ensure that youth are equipped with the tools needed to succeed in high school and beyond.
Responsibilities include:
Qualifications and Skills:
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 4-7pm, Possible Saturday evenings
Location: Washington Heights, West Harlem, North Harlem, East Harlem and LES. Must be willing to be at a different location each day.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide ELA tutoring to youth participants in grades 5th-12th (ages of 11-18).
- Provide homework help (in all subjects).
- Assist participants with improving study skills.
- Provide assistance with Regent’s prep and GED prep as needed.
- Coordinate with Academic Success Advocates regarding participant’s progress.
Qualifications and Skills:
- HS Diploma and some college required. College degree preferred.
- Experience tutoring youth ages 11-18.
- Knowledge of NYC DOE curriculum preferred.
- Ability to motivate youth.
