Description
The New York County District Attorney's Office has an immediate opening for a temporary part time tutor in its Advocate to Graduate (A2G) Program.  A2G is a Manhattan-based advocacy program, which seeks to ensure that youth are equipped with the tools needed to succeed in high school and beyond.

 
Responsibilities include:
 
  1. Provide ELA tutoring to youth participants in grades 5th-12th (ages of 11-18).
  2. Provide homework help (in all subjects).
  3. Assist participants with improving study skills.
  4. Provide assistance with Regent’s prep and GED prep as needed.
  5. Coordinate with Academic Success Advocates regarding participant’s progress.

Qualifications and Skills:
 
  1. HS Diploma and some college required.  College degree preferred.
  2. Experience tutoring youth ages 11-18.
  3. Knowledge of NYC DOE curriculum preferred.
  4. Ability to motivate youth.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 4-7pm, Possible Saturday evenings
Location: Washington Heights, West Harlem, North Harlem, East Harlem and LES. Must be willing to be at a different location each day.
