Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's (DANY) Office Drug Treatment Alternative to Prison (DTAP) program has an opening for a Program Coordinator. In this position, the Program Coordinator is responsible for providing organizational support to the unit.

The New York County District Attorney's (DANY) Office Drug Treatment Alternative to Prison (DTAP) program has an opening for a Program Coordinator. In this position, the Program Coordinator is responsible for providing organizational support to the unit.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Interview defendants and ensure appropriate placement in drug treatment programs.
- Monitor defendants’ compliance with treatment mandates; procure reports from facilities regarding each defendant’s progress in order to update the Court; make recommendations to the Court regarding treatment; meet with defendants between court dates; visit treatment facilities.
- Serve as liaison between DANY and local and state agencies.
- Update and maintain DTAP and Judicial Diversion databases and case files.
- Prepare and analyze statistical reports.
- Appear in the court part that monitors compliance with non-DTAP drug treatment dispositions.
- Serve as main Manhattan Misdemeanor Treatment Court (MMTC) paralegal.
- Assist ADAs with miscellaneous paralegal tasks and in trial preparation for non-DTAP cases.
- Serve as back-up to Judicial Diversion program coordinator.
- Attend to other miscellaneous responsibilities relating to Drug Court.
- Paralegal experience a plus.
- Knowledge of the New York County District Attorney’s Office and criminal justice system a plus.
- Computer proficiency required: Microsoft Office (specifically Excel); advanced knowledge of criminal justice investigative internet search techniques.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
