Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office has an opening for a Support Staff Recruitment and Training Supervisor in its Human Resources Department. In this position, under the guidance of the Human Resources Director and Deputy Director, the Supervisor with a wide range of latitude is responsible for the supervision of the Recruitment and Training team ensuring that the Human Resources initiatives and directives are met.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Managing overall day-to-day functions of recruitment and training team.
  • Develop, coordinate and implement marketing, recruitment, retention and human resources public relations programs and strategies to ensure availability of qualified applicants.
  • Research the Internet for recruitment advertisement sites, job fairs and organization membership for educational-related recruitment.
  • Research, coordinate and participate in all recruiting job fairs.
  • Coordinate recruitment needs with appropriate hiring managers.
  • Analyze, respond to and resolve recruitment issues.
  • Develop job postings, including conducting background research for internal postings and creating concise job summaries of all advertised positions, keeping in mind budget guidelines and limitations.
  • Verify licensure/certification.
  • Review final hiring paperwork for accuracy and completeness
  • Develop community public relations and partnerships with various community agencies and educational institutions, including establishing and maintaining relationships with other district attorney’s offices’ human resources representatives on improving processing ideas and other human resources related issues; establishing membership and participating in various human resources related organizations; and serving on committees and task forces related to employment, recruitment and retention issues.
  • Map out training plans, design and develop training programs (outsourced or in-house)
  • Market available training opportunities to employees and provide necessary information
  • Conduct organization wide needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
  • Design and prepare subject matter educational aids and materials
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and liaise with subject matter experts regarding instructional design
  • Maintain and update curriculum database and training records
  • Provide train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • MS Office proficiency
Qualifications:
  • Ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work independently
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, with a high regard for confidentiality and diplomacy
  • Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Ability to update and edit existing proprietary databases as well as learn emerging industry standard technology
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple short-term projects
  • Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy
  • Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, prioritize among competing needs and respond quickly to requests for information
  • Resourcefulness, initiative and good judgment essential
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Master’s degree
  • Two or more years related experience
  • Demonstrates experience in a leading role in related assignments and projects
