Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office has an immediate opening for a Project Architect in its Facilities Design Unit. In this position the Project Architect is responsible for providing space planning, design and production support to the unit.

The New York County District Attorney's Office has an immediate opening for a Project Architect in its Facilities Design Unit. In this position the Project Architect is responsible for providing space planning, design and production support to the unit.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Under the direction of a Project Manager, production of furniture layouts, SD, DD and CD documents using AutoCAD 2011 (or later) and SketchUp
- Prepare renderings, material boards and presentations to communicate a project’s design intent to stakeholders
- Assist with the preparation of furniture orders
- Effectively communicate a project’s progress and status to team member’s and to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
- Provide project support as needed to achieve overall goals
- Meet project deadlines
- Be detail oriented and precise
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Work affectively with multiple stake-holders, committees and agencies to ensure the successful completion of a project.
- Willingness and ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
- Thorough knowledge of architectural graphic and drafting standards and proficiency with AutoCAD.
- knowledge of system furniture such as Steelcase, Herman Miller, Knoll, etc
- Thorough knowledge of design criteria including organization, adjacencies and aesthetics
- General knowledge of materials, construction methodologies and assemblies.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and requirements; such as the New York City Building Code, New York City Zoning Resolution, Americans with Disabilities Act and egress and fire protection codes.
- General understanding of the design criteria of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural systems
- Experience with creating architectural layouts and construction drawings in a professional office environment.
- Knowledge of Sketchup, Adobe Suite and Photoshop.
- Ability to work independently and to take direction from supervisors, when required, and to work effectively with coworkers within Facilities Design and other departments and agencies.
- Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines and to prioritize when required. Ability to check and critique one’s own work.
- Experience working with contractors and stakeholders and to represent Facilities Design.
- Detail oriented and precise
- Bachelor’s Degree, Architecture major
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience
- LEED experience desired
- Experience with Public projects
- Experience with New York City Agencies
- Working knowledge of ARCHIBUS
