Description
Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an opening for a Specialized Bureau Administrator in its Forensic Accounting and Financial Investigations Bureau (FAFI). FAFI’s main function is to provide a supportive role for all Bureaus/Units within the Investigation Division; it also supports Trial Division Bureaus on a selective basis. FAFI provides forensic accounting and financial investigative services such as the analysis of all financial documents and the preparation of spreadsheets and flow charts to identify and quantify the crimes being investigated, as well as providing Grand Jury and Trial testimony. FAFI Financial Investigators conduct interviews of targets, victims and witnesses, they assist in the execution of search warrants, prepare and serve subpoenas, conduct FINCEN and CLEAR report searches, as well as performing searches of other investigative databases; they also conduct field surveillance as needed. Since most crimes involve some level of financial gain, the staff of FAFI have been or are part of investigations dealing with embezzlements, drug trafficking, money laundering, murder, securities fraud, tax crimes, insurance fraud, elder abuse, cybercrimes and identity theft. In this position the Bureau Administrator is responsible for supporting all levels of FAFI staff.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Approval of all CityTime requests and timesheets.
  • Processing of college interns and tracking their assignments.
  • Responsible for coordinating with IT, personnel, fiscal, operations, space planning, and purchasing for all staffing, repairs, machine maintenance, network issues, supplies, etc.
  • Coordinate Financial Investigator new hire candidates.
  • Prepare and process all room moves and relocations within the unit.
  • Assist Financial Investigators with the scanning of financial records using CFIS.
  • Assist Financial Investigators in basic data entry and proofreading.
  • Coordinate and schedule case reviews.
  • Maintain log book of Flash Drive requests.
  • Maintain log for archived case related documents.
  • Other responsibilities as they become necessary.
  • Perform other administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to quickly learn in-house proprietary applications.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple short-term projects.
  • Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
  • Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
  • Resourcefulness, initiative and good judgment essential.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and personnel.

Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Additional Requirements:
  • One year of criminal justice experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including internet and knowledge of Citynet systems.
  • Spanish speaking a plus.

Commitment:
  • A two (2) year commitment to the hiring bureau.
