Description
Position Summary:

The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an opening for a Program Coordinator in its Legal Training Unit (LTU).  DANY recognizes that legal training is essential to a prosecutor's development. LTU is responsible for the extensive and in-depth training program that begins when Assistant District Attorneys first enter the office, and extends throughout their professional lives. The Program Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the unit and Office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in researching and preparing training materials and legal manuals; provide basic technical support for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) presentations
  • Assist in administering all program events
  • Coordinate reproduction and preparation of hand outs, manuals and other materials for LTU programs and events
  • Update and maintain inventory of all LTU training materials; update and maintain LTU information on DANYNet (Sharepoint)
  • Create and administer CLE evaluations using Survey Monkey
  • Assist in legal research and writing of legal memos on assigned topics
  • Perform related LTU assignments as requested
Qualifications:
  • Excellent writing, proofreading and research skills a must
  • Proficiency in computer applications and internet required, including document formatting in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Lexis preferred
  • Superior organizational, communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to multi-task and interact with all levels of DANY staff
  • Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy
  • Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
 Additional Requirements:
  • Paralegal experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Office and the criminal justice system a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays required.
  • Two (2) year commitment to LTU
